Meet Mackenzie Rohde, Artist & Founder

Built with
intention.
I started My Makeup Girl because I believe makeup should feel effortless — never stressful, never impersonal, and never like a guessing game. It should be thoughtful, tailored to you, and so comfortable that you feel like the best version of yourself.
My path to artistry wasn't traditional. After graduating from Providence College in 2020 with a degree in Political Science, I spent a few years working in politics — fast-paced, demanding, and rewarding in its own way. But my heart kept pulling me back to makeup, the creative outlet that had always grounded me. So I made the leap: I trained at the Artist Makeup Academy, apprenticed alongside seasoned artists, and threw myself into learning every side of the industry.
For me, makeup has never been about masking who you are. It's about enhancing what already makes you beautiful and celebrating the features that are uniquely yours. My favorite part of this work is helping someone see themselves the way everyone else already does — confident, radiant, and completely themselves, just a little more elevated.
- Skin First
- Every booking opens with a prep ritual — hydration, massage, and barrier support — before a base ever goes on.
- Trials That Count
- The trial is where we refine your look together, so your wedding-day look is a repeat, not a guess. Any changes you want to make from trial to day-of are welcomed and built into the final plan.
- Built To Last
- Long-wear formulas, lashes that stay put, and a touch-up plan for the hours between the aisle and the last dance.
